I try to make it out to Los Angeles at least once or twice a year and the first stop right off LAX is ALWAYS The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. This California beverage staple is the place that coffee and tea drinkers’ dreams are made of, with fresh brews that never taste burnt (like some other brands we know who shall remain nameless) and delicious, inventive flavors like Black Latte that keep regular folks and celebs alike coming back for more. I usually weep openly when someone from the left coast tells of their almost-daily trips to TCBTL until TODAY, because there is now a location in New York City!
YES. Right inside the Fashion District, I would dare say that bankers, businessmen and fashionistas alike (something tells me a Vogue intern or five were sent there today) were found standing in line to get their hands on what is basically the Holy Grail of Coffee. The home of the original iced blended has now arrived with plans to stick around and launch a few more locations around fair Gotham.
Outside of the flavors, I’m particularly drawn to the company’s dedication to detail, the customer experience and sourcing their worldly blends responsibly from across the globe. From handcrafted oak paneled stores that are cozy and inviting to purchasing tea directly from the growers and via direct trade, you can feel good about what you’re putting into your mouth.
So, swipe that MetroCard or plan a trip to the new Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. After all, a fashionable gal knows that when the days are long, sometimes a good cup of something caffeinated is the difference between haute couture and hot mess. This is your new destination, fashion fans. Enjoy.
