We’re going to start a new thing around here called To Do List Tuesdays, where we give you some idea of what you should be doing this week. Why Tuesday and not Monday, you ask? Well, because 1) sometimes it takes a full day to recover from the weekend and 2) who in the world is so proactive they have their whole life planned out on Monday morning? Not us!
Watch: The Hills series finale and season finale of The City TONIGHT on MTV. I fully admit to watching every single episode of these television shows. As someone who is permanently on team LC, I winced through most of Kristin Cavalleri’s scenes (even though I do like her ball-busting antics) and now it’s time to say goodbye. Tonight’s (Tuesday, July 13th) episode will be the absolute last for one of the highest-rated reality-dramas in tv history. Check in tonight to say goodbye to the gang at 10 pm, then stay put for the season finale of Whitney Port’s spinoff The City. After that, tuck into a nightcap and watch The Hills Afterparty with the ENTIRE cast of the show, including Lauren Conrad. I’ll be coming from a Drinks Thing but I’ll be in my jammies, ready to live tweet from 10 pm on. Join me on twitter at @fashionstbeauty for live commentary and I might give some things away!
Shop: DKNY and Same Sky Event. DKNY is partnering with Francine Lefrak, Found of Same Sky, for a special shopping event this Wednesday, July 14th at the DKNY Store (655 Madison Avenue @ 60th St). From 6-8 pm, they will offer a chance to view and purchase the Same Sky Bracelets. These amazing accessories, made by women in Rwanda, are part of a trade-not-aid initiative to provide employment opportunities to women who survived the 1994 genocide. The charity provides opportunities for these women to rebuild their lives and lift themselves out of poverty by providing them with a hand UP and NOT a hand out. Shoppers will also receive a 15% discount so go out and shop for a good cause.
Eat: NYC Restaurant Week. Ever really wanted to try that restaurant down the street or the one you’ve been reading about for a while? Now’s your chance because NYC Restaurant Week is running from July 12th through July 25th! Prix fixe menus are available at over 250 participating NY restaurants for a mere $24.07 for lunch and $35 for dinner. Saturdays are not included and we highly recommend pumping the money you save into the cocktail menu and -AHEM – tipping for excellent service. Check out the restaurants participating and make your reservation using Open Table.
Workout: Free Laughing Lotus yoga classes. I love this town for its freebies and this is no exception. Laughing Lotus yoga studio is holding FREE yoga classes outdoors every Wednesday through September 1st at 7 pm. Head over to the lawn on 10th Avenue between 14th and 15th streets and bring your own mat.
Stay tuned for more fun things to come!
