Stylish Travel: How I Spent A Little Quality Time With Johnny Rzeznik of The Goo Goo Dolls

As someone who is a rather big fan of both 90’s music  and travel, you can imagine my delight when I got a chance to combine two of my loves in the same place as I got a chance to meet Johnny Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls as part of Starwood Hotels partnership with LiveNation, the OnTour with SPG program. The partnership allows Starwood Members the opportunity to participate in auctions using their accumulated Preferred Guest rewards points for amazing experiences like our night with Johnny. On this particular evening, ten fans had a chance to have a private audience with Johnny, who then proceeded to play a private concert for 200 Starwood members at the W Union Square.

Ladies and fans of the Goo Goo Dolls, I swoon to tell you that Johnny is really good looking in person. Like, CUTE in person. He also couldn’t have been nicer. I learned that he has an affinity for really great pillows, Molton Brown products, Chrome Hearts jewelry and Diesel jeans. Alas, I finally earned my own backstage pass to meet a rock star and it was all in a manner of which my mother would approve.

Other On Tour with SPG experiences have included  VIP U2 tickets, singing lessons with Natasha Bedingfield, and a backstage meet-and-greet with Katy Perry (for which a fan evidently bid 100,000 points.) You can learn more about the program here.

I have to say, as someone who typically saves my points for upgrades, the ability to use them for once in a lifetime experiences like meeting one of my favorite rock stars is a rather great incentive to keep on traveling.  Check out the program for yourself and you too could save enough points to truly party like (and perhaps with) a rock star.

  1. THIS. I would totally travel more often just to earn something like this. LOVE him. Did you giggle the whole time? I probably would have…or had been completely inappropriate in way your mother would not approve. That is all. 🙂
