Gals, we all know that I love fashion and beauty, but I am also a technology nerd. I am obsessed with gadgets, smartphones, tablets and anything that helps me get connected faster and in the most efficient manner. I love it when the technology sphere gets it that I want my technology to work with impeccable speed as well as look like a fashion and beauty person should own it. Hence, I want to give you a first look at a laptop that looks as good as it works: meet the newest HP Designer Edition Pavilion dm1 Laptop, designed by fashion designer Alexandre Herchcovitch.
I had a chance to view the laptop in person last night at a private event at the swank Style Coalition Lounge (the fabulous event space for my blogging brethren) and not only were we the first to see the laptop ANYWHERE, the designer flew in from Brazil to have a chat with us! Over caipirinhas, fab Brazilian food and some serious tweeting and Instagram-ing, we chatted with the designer who is one of Brazil’s greatest exports (he’s the Brazilian Tim Gunn on their Project Runway!) I’m a fan of his feminine confections, like the dress from his Autumn/Winter 2012 collection that served as the inspiration for the laptop.
What are the features of this fabulous laptop? Let’s discuss, PC fans. Weighing in at a mere 3.5 pounds, this model sports 9.5 hours of battery life, and features an 11.6” LED display; an AMD processor; Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections; USP, HDMI, RJ4 and VGA ports; and Windows 7 Home Premium. It comes complete with Beats Audio, an HP TrueVision HD Webcam for well-lighted images, and HP CoolSense technology that helps it adjust its internal temperature so you don’t get “lap burn.”
Oh, and in addition to all that, it’s pretty. The design on the laptop keyboard, keys and chassis is an intricate black lace design laid over an iridescent olive pearl, which gives it a glow like gilded gold scalloped lace. It’s spectacular to behold. It also comes with accessories to match, fashionistas: a gold laptop sleeve/case and a mouse with the same intricate design.
This gorgeous laptop would make the perfect gift for a budding blogger, student or even for those of us who just need a good, solid laptop that works as hard (and looks as good) as we do. It will launch here in the United States exclusively through QVC at a price of $625.95.
Want some technology that works hard AND is well-dressed? Look no further. Head to QVC now and check out this fab laptop for a device that’s runway-inspired and ready for real life.
