OK, so you’re about to get inundated with Oscars stuff. Like, all day. Rather than do the major roundup of who wore what best, I thought I’d focus on the looks that I thought were truly groundbreaking.
You know, like Helen Hunt wearing H&M on the red carpet.
This dress, a custom creation specifically designed for the talented actress by H&M Head of Design Ann-Sofie Johannson, was one of my favorite looks from the red carpet. Why? Because it’s gorgeous, it’s flattering and it’s FROM H&M.
Let’s not get it really twisted. The jewels cost more than all of my worldly possessions slammed together (est. $700,000,) but in really difficult economic times, how incredibly cool was it for one of the most talented nominees to wear a dress that is actually accessible? It reminded me of one of my favorite red carpet stunners, Sharon Stone, when she wore a Gap top on the red carpet.
As a fan of high-low fashion combinations, this is one of my favorite looks of the night. Thoughts, gals?
