In the spirit of full disclosure, I am a contact lens wearing monster. While I love my lenses and the freedom they give me, sometimes a girl just needs some options, which is where a good pair of glasses comes in. It was time to get a stylish pair of frames to give my eyes a break and to upgrade my wardrobe just a little. After all, a girl needs options.
Lucky for me, LensCrafters is right around the corner and took care of me from start to finish. I got a complete and thorough eye exam, complete with retinal imaging to determine the actual health of the tissue of my eyes. After my exam, I was whisked into a giant room full of lenses to play with. I grabbed an entire tray full, complete with gorgeous frames from Chanel, Tiffany and Co., Dolce & Gabbana, Prada and Burberry.
I selected my top three and was treated to another one of LensCrafters’ fun upgrades – digital imaging. They take photos of you in your top lenses and allow you to see what you look like in a photograph, which for anyone is a KEY factor in the style of lenses you think you want. Mirrors are one thing, a photo is a whole other thing.
After I selected my new favorite accessory, Tiffany and Co. frames, another amazing tool was utilized: the AccuFit system. Think about the old tool that looks like a ViewMaster that you’re used to, the one you place on your face while they adjust where the center of the lens should sit. Well, this little digital tool takes its place and creates a custom fit with pinpoint accuracy. Using this technology, the difference in how you see through your glasses is like the difference between regular tv and high definition. I see as well with my new frames as I do with my contact lenses. That’s something I never thought I’d say.
Oh, and my glasses were ready in exactly 48 minutes, right within their “about an hour” guarantee. Nice.
LensCrafters has an amazing selection of frames and with their semi-annual lens event, there are countless frames and sunglasses available for purchase and they’re offering the lenses at 50% off! They say that guys don’t make passes in girls who wear glasses. Um, after wearing my fabulous frames for about a week, I can honestly say that’s SO not true. I think the sassy librarian look works just fine for me.
