One of my favorite poems is “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by American poet Robert Frost. If you’re familiar with it via English class and thirst for all things literature, I salute you. The first time I became acquainted with the poem was via the adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s The Outsiders, a movie filled with 80’s teen idols and plenty of teen angst:
Stay gold, Ponyboy. Stay gold.
Truth be told, I’ve always had an obsession with all things gold, and when a gorgeous, gilded beauty item comes across my desk that makes my heart sing, I have to share it with you. Feast your eyes on butter LONDON’s new The 444 Nail Lacquer, a shimmering champagne gold out just in time for New York Fashion Week, where all that truly glitters will reside starting next week.
The hue is rich and luxurious, and it’s the perfect item to transition summer’s sun-kissed skin. Keep it all season, and use it anytime something in your life doesn’t feel quite “golden.” Sometimes, a little polish is all you need for a pick-me-up.
Nothing gold can stay, though, as referenced by the clip and the poem. Therefore, I’d get my hands on this color before the world gets their hands on it. It’s bound to go fast. 🙂
