As you know, I try really hard to get my nails done every weekend. At the very least, I will try and polish and buff my nails every Sunday night, because here’s a little secret: I SUCK at vanity. If I don’t set a routine to manage things like nails and eyebrows, they don’t get done and then I look like a beast.
Hence, every Friday I will be telling you about some fabulous new nail trend or colors I’m trying for my Sunday Night Nail Party. We’re starting the series with butter LONDON and their new fabulous offering, LIPPY.
The ladylike trend of matching your lips to your nails was old fashioned – you know, until Mad Men came on tv and reminded us how fabulous it is to be feminine. These five new lip glosses coordinate with existing colors in the collection and have a great dimension and shine that will keep the matched nails-lips thing from looking dated. Plus, they’re all perfect foils for the neon brights and vivid colors of spring.
Oh, and per the company’s philosophy, the LIPPY products do no harm – no parabens, petroleum, phthalates, sulphates or bismuth.
How to apply: The formula is more like a lacquer than a gloss, which means it’s thick and has incredible staying power. The easiest way to apply them is to use your finger to apply the first swipe across the lips to prime your mouth, then use the applicator to apply a second coat. Smack your lips together and roll out.
The hues: Primrose Hill Picnic, Snog, Trout Pout, Yummy Mummy and Teddy Girl – will retail for $17 and are available NOW in Ulta stores nationwide. They’ll be available via all other retail outlets come April.
It’s a mani-pedi party with these new fabulous shades! Grap a LIPPY so your lips can join the fun! Have a great, beauty-ful weekend!
