Weight Loss Diary: Heading to Exhale Spa to Take the Core Fusion 90-Day Challenge!

So, most of you know that I just started this whole initiative to lose 40 lbs in 40 weeks. Well, while the diet part is pretty much covered, I have to admit that I needed to add a little something to my workout. While spinning is incredibly fun, I wanted something that would help really kick my weight loss into overdrive as well as change my body. In fact, I want a longer, leaner physique that feels amazing, looks even better and is in top condition.

Which is why I turned to my friends over at exhale and decided to participate in a 90-Day Challenge.

If you’re not familiar with exhale, it’s an incredible mind body spa with locations across the United States. Created in 2003, exhale is actually one of the leading lifestyle brands in the spa andwellness space. They offer what they like to call “transformational mind body programs” like yoga, spa treatments (which they call “spa therapies” – has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?) and, of course, the range of Core Fusion classes. The company is focused on total wellness of the mind, body and spirit and thousands of devoted followers will tell you that they deliver on these promises very, very well.

Core Fusion, as I explain in the video above, is a class that was created specifically for exhale by their top two exercise gurus, Fred DeVito and Elisabeth Halfpapp. It’s a custom mixture of gyrotonics, active isolated stretching, barre work and dance that sculpts the physique using very specific movements that break muscle down and reshape it in a manner that causes it to look leaner and more sculpted. The body can look and act years younger. I make this claim because every time I have ever done a Core Fusion class, there are women in there who can do advanced moves that I couldn’t dream of who are easily 30 years older than me. We’re talking women who are easily grandparents with the supple musculature of someone half their age. Yep, that’s the power of Core Fusion. Obviously, I said to sign me up.

So, today begins my 90-day challenge. I’m going to attempt to hit a class every day for the next three months and I will document my weight loss goals here. I’ll be doing a combination of Core Fusion, yoga, boot camp (as Fred told me I will be doing – I’m already a little nervous/excited) and will receive nutrition counseling with the lovely Kayleigh on their staff. Follow along as I post my results in pounds, inches and little fitness wins (as in being able to lift my legs into the air using my abs from a seated position – something I have ALWAYS wanted to do.) With any luck, I will be 40 lbs lighter, healthier and with the body of a Pussycat Doll.

Let’s do this. It’s time for me to look HOT. If you want to join me, take a class and try it out! Click this link and find the nearest exhale location near you. Let’s get gorgeous and fit together!
