Ok, so just a quick note – this was supposed to go up yesterday but due to some technical difficulties, it’s up today. Hey, better late than never, right?
SO, we’re back on track with the video weight loss journey of my 90-day challenge with exhale to see what the effects of doing Core Fusion 4-5 times a week would do for my body. The video above is an account of how many pounds I’ve lost (and continue to lose,) but also an honest account of why there hasn’t been a video in the past couple of weeks.
I got a little scared, folks.
No, not of the class or of anything related to the workouts or my newfound love of organic food. No, I got a little freaked out because, well, what if I failed? What if this was just another “diet” where I would drop some weight and then gain it all back again. Anyone who has ever fervently decided to adopt a way or eating or moving in the hopes of achieving a goal only to have it all come back like it was all a dream at the end knows EXACTLY what I’m talking about. You take it all off to put it all back on again. Would this be any different?
That’s when I realized that this IS different because even though I’m on this 90-day challenge with Core Fusion and yoga to take the weight off, I’ve realized that this is an exercise program that I really enjoy. As in, I feel sluggish and not so great when I’m not at class and I really love the way I feel when I’m doing the workout (not to mention the post-workout metabolism and mood-lifting after-effects.) This is the way I want to live moving forward.
As far as dieting, not jamming processed foods down my throat and the reduction of caffeine and alcohol have really helped my overall well-being, not just my waistline. My holistic health counselor Kayleigh (assigned to me through exhale’s challenge) has made sure I’ve finally found a way of living, eating and moving that really suits me, that makes me happy AND feel really good about myself. I believe this is the mind body connection that exhale talks about, the ability to be present and at home and happy inside your body. I’m officially in that place in life. I think I’ll stay here.
So, I did something on Sunday that made me so happy: I threw away every diet book I owned. All the ways to eat and ways to work out and crazy recipes and deprivation methods – they’re all gone. I cannot tell you how relieved I am in the knowledge that I will never DIET ever again. It’s about achieving balance. Eat well all of the time but balance how much and what you eat and the body does what it’s supposed to do. I’m not fighting with my body anymore. It’s a good feeling. I recommend it.
I’ll check back in next Monday. In the meantime, if you want to check out Core Fusion and exhale’s amazing classes and spa programs for yourself, visit their website. I cannot tell you how much it’s meant to me.
OK, so 20 pounds to go. Think I can do it before mid-August? Let’s see!
